WWE star Asuka has shared her honest thoughts on people bringing up that she has never won a match at WrestleMania.
Her comments came after a fan responded to a post by Asuka reflecting on winning the first Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018.
With Asuka noting that she made history at the January 28, 2018 WWE Royal Rumble, she would go on to criticise the belief that her other records are somehow lesser.
Responding to a fan who noted that they hoped for Asuka to “get at least one WrestleMania win”, Asuka revealed how she is sick of fans who desperately search for what she hasn’t obtained yet in WWE.
She responded by tweeting:
“Every time I achieve a victory or set a record, people desperately search for what I haven’t obtained yet and say, “You still don’t have this.” That system is endless, and I’m sick of it.
“I want them to stop obsessively looking for what I haven’t achieved. Their way of thinking is just too negative.
“Was a WrestleMania win or loss ever considered a title like winning the Royal Rumble? This is just an issue that someone forcefully brought up against me.”
Asuka currently has an 0-6 record at WrestleMania, most recently teaming with Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane in a losing effort against Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Jade Cargill.
Asuka was the first female Japanese wrestler to sign with WWE since Bull Nakano in 1994 and her time in the company has seen her hold the WWE Women’s Championship two times and the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
She is also a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with four separate reigns to her name, with Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Kairi Sane.
Her time in WWE NXT saw her hold the Women’s Championship with her title record making her the second Women’s Grand Slam Champion (with Bayley having been the first).
Asuka is currently sidelined through a knee injury, though it recently emerged that plans for her return are being discussed.
