Former NXT Tag Team Champion Kon (fka Konnor) has opened up about falling in love with wrestling again following his WWE exit.

Kon and Vik (Viktor) were initially presented as a dominant act in WWE, with the Ascension holding the NXT tag titles for 343 days in 2013-2014.

After the duo arrived on the main roster in 2014, they gradually transitioned from rising stars to jobbers, ahead of their releases in December 2019.

Kon currently wrestles for IMPACT as a member of Violent By Design.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Kon noted that he previously felt ‘dead inside’, but has since had his passion for wrestling reignited:

“It’s been a hell of a rollercoaster ride. I can’t even put words to it because I was very dead inside … to be able to feel this again, its exhilarating.

“I’m just so happy and if anything I’m so appreciative of what I have now, more than anything.

“At the end of the day, I love this business. I’ve never been more appreciative now than I’ve ever been with this business.

“There was a bunch of speed bumps that now make me realize what I have, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

While Vince McMahon can still contribute and make suggestions for WWE creative, the division is now overseen by Triple H, who serves as WWE’s Chief Content Officer.

Vince McMahon is still the Executive Chairman for WWE, and recently had a meeting with a notable name at WWE headquarters.
