Popular Former WWE Star Return Pitched For Upcoming Event

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event returns on December 14, 2024, and will air as a simulcast on NBC and Peacock.

With rumors of the show’s return, it was officially confirmed by WWE on September 17 with tickets going on sale this Friday.

The show will air live from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, N.Y., the site of the first-ever “Saturday Night’s Main Event” back in 1985.

With the Long Island connection in mind, Chelsea Green has identified the perfect star for the show on Twitter, as can be seen below this news story.

According to Green, she knows “a guy from LI” and that guy is none other than Matt Cardona.

Now known as Matt Cardona on the independent wrestling scene, the former Zack Ryder has discussed a move to “a major TV company” recently.

He has also discussed the possibility of a WWE return, though under his own name as opposed to the Ryder one.

Along with his independent circuit bookings, including regular GCW matches, Cardona has also featured on TNA Wrestling and AEW since his release by WWE in 2020.
