WWE Star Worked Two Matches In One Night While Unwell

The December 22 episode of WWE SmackDown was taped on December 15 and Zelina Vega was unwell for both shows but still competed..

Zelina Vega of the LWO teamed up with “Michin” Mia Yim on the December 15 episode of SmackDown, facing Damage CTRL’s Asuka and Kairi Sane.

Despite appearing in that one match, it has been reported she was unwell by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who wrote:

Vega was ill coming into the 12/15 Smackdown tapings but worked two matches on the show

She would team with Michin again for the pre-taped December 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, along with Shotzi and Bianca Belair to take on Damage CTRL (Bayley, IYO SKY, Asuka & Kairi Sane) in a Holiday Havoc Eight Woman Match.

The nature of Vega’s illness has not been reported although PW Insider has previously reported on the illness.

According to PW Insider, Vega was “praised for being willing and able to gut through two matches”.
