Following a lengthy absence on the platform, WWE Smackdown star Zelina Vega has announced her return to Twitch via Twitter.
While no firm date for the return is given, it is a very interesting development given WWE’s past stance on their ‘independent contractors’ having their own external platforms and revenue streams.
Vega in particular previously exited the company back in November 2020 because of her Twitch channel, with Dave Meltzer reporting that Vega was given an ultimatum to give up her channel or be fired.
Thankfully, this announcement may be a sign of WWE softening on their strict stance.

Years ago Vince McMahon was cracked down on such channels, however, now with Endeavor’s purchase of WWE things may be set to change.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required) under Endeavor UFC fighters are allowed to retain outside channels such as OnlyFans and BrandArmy, so perhaps this latest development is an example of a similar policy being applied for WWE talent.
