WWE Directors & Officers Under New Investigation For ‘Breach Of Fiduciary Duties’

WWE is being hit with yet another investigation on top of the one that came out yesterday regarding the allegations involving Vince McMahon.

A press release was sent out today via Business Wire from Scott+Scott Attorneys LLP stating the firm is “investigating whether certain directors and officers of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc breached their fiduciary duties to WWE and its shareholders”.

This is separate from the investigation specifically into the Vince McMahon allegations that came to light yesterday, which is being conducted by WWE’s board of directors under the oversight of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

On June 15, 2022, the Wall Street Journal reported that the WWE board was investigating an alleged $3 million settlement that CEO Vince McMahon agreed to pay in January 2022 to a former WWE employee with whom he allegedly had an affair.
