The Knoxville County mayoral election is set to take place on August 2, 2018. OK, what does this have to do with wrestling?
Good question. Glenn Jacobs, also known as Kane in WWE, is a serious contender to winning the race. The ‘Big Red Machine’ won the Republican primary for the Tennessee county on May 1, 2018. He won only by 17 votes and will now face Democrat nominee, Linda Haney.

Kane was last seen in a WWE ring at July’s pay-per-view Extreme Rules. The ‘Devil’s Favorite Demon’ reunited with Team Hell No partner, Daniel Bryan, challenging the Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in a losing effort.
Glenn Jacobs is expected to win the election, but will make it official when the ballots close tonight.
Voting is currently ongoing.
