Reports emerged several weeks ago suggesting that WWE wants to bring Ronda Rousey in for Smackdown Live’s debut on FOX on October 4th.
With Rousey landing a starring role in FOX’s 9-1-1 drama, it was believed that the network could bring the former Raw Women’s Champion in for the big show.
However, Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE doesn’t want to bring Rousey back for a one-off appearance.
Vince McMahon reportedly wants Rousey to have a match/series of matches in the near future:
Meltzer then added that while no one is 100% certain, the general feeling backstage is that Ronda will be back in the company soon:
“Who’s to say [Ronda Rousey] won’t be included? You know there’s a lot of people who suspect that she’s going to come back. I mean no one knows for sure.”
There is currently no official word on when, or even if Ronda Rousey will be returning to the company.
