Last week, Universal Champion Seth Rollins and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay started a feud on Twitter.
The beef started when Seth Rollins dubbed Stomping Grounds as the “best pro-wrestling on the planet“. A comment which NJPW star Will Ospreay seemingly took issue.

This started a war of words between the two immensely talented performers, with Rollins even referring to Ospreay as a “little guy”.
Ahhhh I’m sorry little guy. We already have a better version of you here and he just won his first US Title tonight (Congrats @KingRicochet). Keep working hard though buddy! https://t.co/JwB36iWaIg

The exchange continued, with Rollins at one point telling Ospreay to compare their bank accounts when Will said he’d wrestled more matches than Seth in 2019.
I mean if you wanna talk numbers we can compare bank accounts too.
P.S. That’s counting a month off with a broken back…👍🏼 buddy.

A week removed from the exchange, and Seth Rollins has decided to publically apologise to the British wrestler for his comment on comparing bank accounts.
The former Shield member said he realised his tweet was wrong “the moment [he] pressed the send button”.
After a few days to sit on it, I’d like to apologize to @WillOspreay for the tweet I sent his way about comparing bank accounts. It was dumb of me & not in line with my values. The moment I pressed the send button I knew it was trash, but I’m too stubborn for my own good.

However, Rollins added that he did not regret stating that WWE is the best pro-wrestling on the planet, and claimed he is still “the best of the best doing it right now”.
I stand firm in my sentiments that @WWE is the best pro wrestling on the planet and that I’m the best of the best doing it right now. After a helluva week of travel, our crew didn’t waver for a second. Top level humans busting their asses for the love of the game.

Rollins would go on to say that he was immensely proud of Vince McMahon’s company, but promised to stop with the “garbage tweets”.
I couldn’t be more proud to be a champion with this company and represent @WWE and the entire industry in the way it deserves. No more garbage tweets. I can and will be better.

Many people have speculated that Seth Rollins took such issue with the comments made by many online regarding WWE’s tanking ratings and abysmal ticket sales as it reflects badly on him as Universal Champion.
