Back in January of 2018, Vince McMahon made an announcement promising the return of the XFL. Now, the exhumed football league has confirmed the date that the teams will be announced.
Today, the XFL put out a tweet stating that the announcement of all eight teams and their respective cities will take place on December 5th.
The wait is almost over! This coming Wednesday, Dec. 5, we unveil our eight cities and the venues we will play in for our inaugural season in 2020.

There is already heavy speculation on where the eight teams will be located, with many reports stating there will be one in St. Louis, which lost its NFL team, the Rams, when they moved to Los Angeles.
However, McMahon has said that all cities, even ones with NFL teams, will be on the radar of the XFL, with Oakland already backing out of a potential deal and St. Louis reportedly accepting one.
This is McMahon’s second attempt at creating an American football league to rival the dominant NFL, with the previous attempt folding in 2002 after just one season.
