The Young Bucks have reacted to former AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38.
Rhodes was revealed to be Seth Rollins’ mystery opponent during WrestleMania 38 Saturday. Still working as the ‘American Nightmare’, the visual of Rhodes in a WWE ring felt surreal, considering Rhodes was acting as an AEW EVP less than two months ago.
Rhodes, Kenny Omega and Matt & Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks were appointed as AEW EVPs ahead of the promotion’s launch in 2019.
The Bucks took to Twitter to react to Rhodes’ surprise WWE appearance, updating their Twitter bio to read:
“Wtf I thought we were doing All In 2”
All In was notably the pre-cursor event to AEW, spurred on by Cody Rhodes wanting to prove that a non-WWE show could sell 10,000 tickets in the US.
Rhodes has now stated that his AEW exit was a ‘personal matter’, which you can read more about right here.
