Here’s what happened with Zack Ryder and LA Knight after their WWE Last Time Is Now tournament match, following Ryder’s SmackDown return.
Zack Ryder returned on the November 14 SmackDown episode to face Knight in the first round of the tournament set to determine John Cena’s final opponent.
With Ryder ultimately coming up short, the returning star spoke about uncertainty surrounding his future with the company in a backstage video shared by WWE.
After noting that he’s unsure whether this was a one-off or whether he should expect a phone-call on Saturday, Zack Ryder was approached by LA Knight, who shook his hand.
Giving a nod to Ryder following their match, Knight said:
“I don’t know if is a ‘welcome back’, or if this is a ‘see you later’, but all I can say is… Yeah! Good stuff.”
