UPDATE: John Pollock of PWTorch is reporting that a Zelina Vega & Carmella vs Liv Morgan & Toni Storm tag team match was planned but pulled from the show due to time constraints.
Zelina Vega who is a native New Yorker was seemingly hyped for SmackDown to be in her home city and running Madison Square Garden. Many expected her to be on the card for tonight’s show. In addition to being from New York, her dad also died on 9/11. So, it would seem she would be on the 9/11 show.
However, it looks like she got all dressed up and had nowhere to go according to a tweet she put out during the show. The tweet simply read “nevermind.”

It would seem odd for her to get all geared up and display what appears to be new gear if she wasn’t expecting to be on the show. With her husband being successful in AEW and her run since coming back being less than exemplar, you have to wonder if she’s regretting her decision to return.
This is the second week in a row without a women’s match. Apparently, Carmella and Liv Morgan weren’t happy about this either, posting the following:
