Original WWE Raw Plans Before Zoey Stark Injury Revealed

Original WWE Raw Plans Before Zoey Stark Injury Revealed WWE

Zoey Stark suffered an injury during a Money in the Bank qualifying match on WWE Raw, which saw an apparent shift in plans.

The three-way qualifying match saw Zoey Stark, Rhea Ripley and the returning Kairi Sane all vie for a spot in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on June 7.

During the match on the May 20 WWE Raw episode, Stark awkwardly landed on her leg after a springboard dropkick and was removed from the match through injury.

Dave Meltzer has now addressed the original plans for the match and how Zoey Stark would have played into proceedings.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted that the return of Sane would have seen a different outcome than what played out, saying:

“So Kairi Sane (was pinned in) her first match back, which obviously wasn’t the plan.

“They had no choice, they had to do what they had to do.”

Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez also stated that the original plan was to have Stark be the one who was pinned.

Rhea Ripley was ultimately victorious, pinning Sane to earn her spot in the women’s Money in the Bank match.

Ripley has addressed Stark’s injury on Twitter, sharing a message about the dangers wrestlers face.

WrestleTalk wishes Zoey Stark well on her recovery from injury.
