Rich Swann Misses Slammiversary

Someone who wasn’t at the show was Rich Swann. The former Cruiserweight Champion debuted for Impact on their last set of tapings and has already been highly praised for his match against Fenix and a six-man tag against oVe. Sadly on a show for MLW last Thursday, Swann suffered a concussion, and Impact Wrestling announced he had been pulled from the Slammiversary 4-way which also featured Johnny Impact, Taijri Ishimori, and Fenix – replacing him with former X-Division Champion and Canada’s own Petey Williams.

Impact Shoots On WWE?

But perhaps the biggest piece of news – or at least the cattiest news – came from Impact’s Twitter feed prior to the show – sending out a tweet reading: “Feel let down or take for granted by any recent wrestling PPV events? Just take a look at this card!”

Can’t imagine what they might be referring to. ERRRRGGGHHH!

Someone else on Twitter noticed this little bit of shade being thrown, to which Impact replied, “Throw shade? Why we’d never!”

Well I’m sure that is a 100% genuine reply, but wait – that winking face Emoji suggests otherwise!

But while Impact were throwing shade at WWE, Ring of Honor’s newest star was throwing bodies.

Jeff Cobb Debuts At Ring of Honor

During ROH’s latest set of TV tapings from Centre Stage in Atlanta, Georgia, former Lucha Underground Champion – and all round nice chap – Jeff Cobb debuted for the company. After a Top Prospects match between FR Josie and Eli Isom, Cobb attacked both men – delivering an awesome double overhead suplex.

But we’re going to drop a spoiler from the tapings next – so if you want to avoid that I would suggest skipping ahead or going over to another WrestleTalk video. We’re about to head into the Spoiler Room Brawl in 3…2…1…

New World Six-Man Tag Team Champions!

Also on the ROH tapings, The Kingdom defended their World Six Man Tag Team Championships against the Bullet Club team of Cody and the Young Bucks – who successfully captured the gold to be crowned the new champs. This is Cody’s second bit of gold in Ring of Honor and the second time the Bucks have held the Six-Man titles. They’re also quickly stealing Austin Aries belt collector gimmick, as they are also the current IWGP Tag Team Champions and the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Champions with Marty Scurll as the Super Villains.
