MAJOR WWE Return Set For WrestleMania 35?! | WrestleTalk News Jan. 2019

WWE & AEW Stars To Face Off… In Mortal Kombat

And we kick off with news that the stars of WWE and All Elite Wrestling are going to fight! Tonight!

Not in a wrestling ring mind, in Neverrealm, ooh, or actually just Los Angeles where they’ve all been invited to the gameplay reveal event for Mortal Kombat 11. Which is kool with a k, it’s a Mortal Kombat thing.

Ronda Rousey, Cody Rhodes and Xavier Woods have all chosen wisely and are going along to watch demon ninjas chop thunder gods into strips over and over again. EC DUB. EC DUB.

Cody posted this video of him frantically opening his invite saying ‘happy to defend Earthrealm tomorrow. He was so excited you could of finished him with a feather.

And Rousey was particularly keen too, posting this selfie on Instagram: “The invitation I’ve been waiting to accept my whole life. Don’t worry, Earthrealm is safe with me 😉 Can’t wait for Thursday! I’ll be there #MK11@mortalkombat”

It’s also rumoured that Rousey will be voicing Sonya Blade in the game. Must be the weirdest voiceover work out there: Hi Ronda, this is Clem Fandango, can you hear me? Can you make a noise like someone has just punched you in the taint?

The event is taking place in LA and London simultaneously, so if you’re interested in MK11 head over to Netherrealms Twitch at 10:30am PST or 6:30pm GMT.

Huge Match Set For TakeOver On NXT!

Here comes a new challenger. That’s Street Fighter isn’t it… urgh

Anyway, everyone in NXT is a new challenger as far as WWE is concerned, even if they’ve been a star for years… and there was some interesting news coming out of last night’s episode of the black and yellow show. Spoilers ahead. Get out while you still can those who don’t want to know and if you do want to know, in even more detail make sure to check out mine and Luke’s NXT Wrestleramble Review when it hits the channel today.

The Street Profits returned with an angrier and more aggressive attitude, beating up a pair of greasers before getting attacked themselves by The Forgotten Sons – meaning the Profits fought to sets of glorified mechanics on one show and have another low-tier feud on their hands.

Bianca BelAir and Shayna Baszler had a showdown in the ring, where a brazen BelAir slapped The Queen of Spades before hightailing it away from her horsewomen mates. This was after Baszler said that Bianca would go from Un-de-feat-ed to O-ver-rat-ed when she beats her at TakeOver Phoenix.

Dominik Dijakovic had a hard to pronounce name and beat Eddy Gordo wannabe Adrian Jauode, another fighting game reference, I am three for three.

Johnny Gargano and Humberto Carrillo had a great little match and then Johnny called Ricochet out for next week, so the two will have a face-to-face confrontation next week and it was also made official that the two will compete for the North American Championship at TakeOver.

So that makes four matches with Aleister Black vs Tomasso Ciampa for the NXT title, Shayna Baszler defending the women’s championship against Bianca Belair and War Raiders trying to wrest the Tag Championships from the Undisputed Era’s hands.

And chances are we’ll also get Matt Riddle vs Kassius Ohno at TakeOver after Ohno used a low-blow to best Keith Lee on this week’s NXT, prompting a pissed off Riddle to storm down to the ring – he would’ve got there quicker in proper shoes.

Batista WrestleMania Match In The Works!?

Speaking of taking your time to get somewhere, Batista is taking his sweet time making that much rumoured WWE return.

You may remember the rumours that Dave wanted one more Mania match from around the time that Evolution showed up on Smackdown 1000, their spiritual home, because their actual home is RAW.

Well, apparently it’s still in the works.

Slice Wrestling had this to say on Twitter:

“Report:

WWE And Dave Bautista Are Discussing Plans For A Possible Match At #WrestleMania 35. Bautista Is Scheduled To Begin Shooting A New Movie In February Which The Filming Process Could Impact Any WWE Plans. WWE Would Like To Have “Batista” Back For A Major Match At Mania.”

So it sounds like scheduling conflict could be a major issue here, and couple that with the pinch of salt you have to take backstage reports with and at the moment it seems the odds aren’t great for a Batista return.

But if it were true and Drax came back to WWE, people might actually care this time…
