WWE Star FIRED! Summerslam 2018 Matches CONFIRMED! WWE Smackdown Live July 24 2018 Video Review

Andrade “Cien” Almas def. Rusev

After going toe-to-toe with AJ Styles last week, Andrade “Cien” Almas took on Rusev in a match where both men wanted to prove they could be a future contender to the WWE Champion. Rusev was Aiden-less, but English made an appearance later in the match to stop a fight between Lana and Zelina Vega. Sadly this backfired, and Almas pinned Rusev off the distraction. Backstage, Rusev shushed the arguging Lana and English and said maybe neither of them are good for Rusev Day.

Samoa Joe def. R-Truth

R-Truth had his first match since WrestleMania, losing quickly to Samoa Joe…

Asuka def. Billie Kay

…And Asuka easily dispatched of Billie Kay with a kick to the head. This, of course, came after both Asuka and IIconics cut promos about how great Evolution is going to be. Smackdown will need to do more than simply beating Billie Kay to rehab Asuka after the Carmella debacle.

Paige Fires James Ellsworth

Shinsuke Nakamura cut a quick cellphone promo on Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy, and then Paige came out to announce AJ Styles’ Summerslam opponent. AJ welcomed any challenge. Well, after he talked about how great Evolution was going to be, that is. Got to get that plug in. This brought out James Ellsworth who wanted to face AJ at Summerslam  – seeing as though he’s pinned him three times already in the past. Paige told James to stop this, and then fired him after he insulted her! Ellsworth was then thrown out of the building. Is this really the end of Ellsworth? Like he was brought back just to screw over Asuka in two title matches? Shouldn’t Asuka get her revenge on him before he leaves or something?
