In recent years, many wrestlers who were once ruled out of ever competing in the ring again have made their returns to action.
From Edge to Bryan Danielson to Sting to Saraya, many stars have had the opportunity to go out on their own terms, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with one other retired star.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, WWE’s Tyson Kidd (TJ Wilson) spoke about potentially returning to the ring, where he said that he can’t take a bump.
He said:
“I know they say never say never, but I’ve been saying never for the last eight years. No, the truth is I can do probably, in some things, 99% of the move I just can’t do the actual bump. And I’m sure I could maybe take a couple [of bumps] but at what cost? I don’t know, I haven’t taken one.”
Since retiring from the ring, Wilson has become one of the top producers in the company, often being credited for his work on women’s matches in the company.
Wilson spoke about his role, noting that he enjoys his work, and he would potentially try taking bumps if he didn’t.
He added:
“I am very fortunate, I enjoy my work as a producer. If I didn’t and if I didn’t have that outlet, then I could understand why I’d then maybe try taking a bump and see how that felt and kind of go from there. But I’m very blessed and luckily I don’t have to go down that avenue so I don’t think, no I know I’m not going to.”
Kidd retired back in 2015, after suffering a career ending neck injury in a Dark match against Samoa Joe following a botched Muscle Buster.
