An AEW star’s character is set for a “different direction” following their recent return at AEW Revolution 2024.
Following what was the only title change of the entire night, new International Champion Roderick Strong was faced with an old friend after his win over Orange Cassidy at Revolution.
After almost two years on the sidelines, Kyle O’Reilly made his shock return to TV.
While many perhaps expected him to join up with the Undisputed Kingdom, O’Reilly appeared to refuse their advancements suggesting that he may be set for a run on his own in the company.
Adding further details to O’Reilly’s return was a new report from Fightful Select, which shared some backstage info on AEW’s plans for the former WWE star.
The report mentions that while many expected O’Reilly to be revealed as an original member of The Undisputed Kingdom, a “different direction” has instead been in the works for several months.
What this entails is unclear as of now, however, it appears that his new look is only one of many “elements” that will be different for O’Reilly in this latest run.
Stay with WrestleTalk for any further updates on O’Reilly’s return to AEW as/when they become available.
