4. So Many Injuries
There has never been a time in WWE history with so many injuries within such a short period.
Currently on the injured list are: Triple H, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Braun Strowman, Sin Cara, Ariya Daivari, Fandango, Goldust, Matt Hardy, Jason Jordan, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and a host of guys and girls from NXT.
What is the reason for it? The more dangerous style is undoubtedly a factor. Performers are taking bigger and bigger risks, taking bumps that previous generations never would have dream of taking.
One just needs to count the sheer number of dives that take place on every show to see evidence of that. Where hurling yourself from the ring to the outside was previously a once-in-a-blue-moon high spot for special occasions, it has become commonplace.
There have also been questions asked over the training methods WWE stars are encouraged to undertake, with several shoulder injuries occurring in recent years due to wrestlers using powerlifting workouts (in an effort to build size), which take their toll on the body when done repeatedly.
The schedule is also a killer. Tired bodies are injury-prone bodies, and tired minds lead to mistakes.
Unless a significant change in ethos occurs, the style is toned down and the schedule and travel is reduced, this is not going to change.
