Last week on WWE Backstage, CM Punk made his emphatic return to WWE TV. It was revealed that Punk will be appearing occasionally on the FS1 show as a special analyst.
Tomorrow night will mark CM Punk’s first advertised appearance on WWE programming in over five years, and the company is expecting viewership for the show to dramatically increase as a result.
Taking to Twitter, the former WWE Champion has hyped up his appearance on the show tomorrow night, claiming that he has had to “catch up on 5+ years of rasslin'”.
It IS weird trying to catch up on 5+ years of rasslin’, I’m doing what I can. There’s bright spots, mostly women from what I can tell. There’s BAD too. I’m gonna talk about it, and no one is safe. Join us. @ReneeYoungWWE @WWEonFOX @BookerT5x @RealPaigeWWE @VinceMcMahon @TonyKhan

After saying that “no one is safe”, Punk interestingly tagged both WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and AEW boss Tony Khan in the tweet.
As a result, some have speculated that CM Punk will be speaking not only about WWE, but also AEW during his appearances on WWE Backstage.
WWE has shown a willingness to mention The Elite new promotion recently, most notably on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast.
