A huge championship match was announced for next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX during tonight’s edition of the show.
The October 16 episode is being billed as the “season premiere” as it comes about a year after SmackDown debuted on FOX last October.
Two matches were announced, one of which will see Roman Reigns defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman.
The second match will be a six-man tag team match that will see New Day take on Sheamus, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura.
It will be New Day’s “farewell match” as Big E was drafted to SmackDown on the first night of the WWE Draft tonight, whereas Kingston & Woods were drafted to Raw.
Kingston & Woods also became SmackDown Tag Team Champions tonight after beating Cesaro & Nakamura.
