Last night during WWE Super ShowDown from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, WWE officially announced five matches for their upcoming Stomping Grounds pay-per-view on June, 23.
June 23. #WWEStompingGrounds. Here's what we got:
– #SDLive #WomensChampion @itsBayleyWWE vs. @AlexaBliss_WWE
– @WWERomanReigns vs. @DMcIntyreWWE
– #RAW #WomensChampion @BeckyLynchWWE vs. @LaceyEvansWWE pic.twitter.com/5s1StS3T3D— WWE Network (@WWENetwork) June 7, 2019
Booked for the show already was a WrestleMania 35 rematch between Raw star Drew McIntyre and Smackdown’s Roman Reigns.
Also, Raw’s Alexa Bliss defeated Carmella and Charlotte Flair on Smackdown to earn a match with Bayley for the blue brand’s championship at the upcoming pay-per-view.
It appears as if WWE has no interest in creating any new and exciting matchups for this pay-per-view as Lacey Evans. Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler will be challenging for the Raw Women’s Championship, Universal Championship and WWE Championship respectively despite losing clean in title matches over the last few weeks.
However, the Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston match will be contested inside a Steel Cage, as Ziggler challenged Kofi last night at Super ShowDown, so I guess something is different.
#WWEChampion @TrueKofi showed @HEELZiggler that it would NOT "be him" at #WWESSD! @XavierWoodsPhD https://t.co/X8C6TOMvTa
