Omos Addresses Fan Criticisms Of His WWE Booking WWE

WWE star Omos has revealed his thoughts on online criticism surrounding his push, noting that he sees everything online.

The seven-foot star signed with WWE in January 2019, ahead of his wrestling debut that July.

It didn’t take long for Omos to receive his first push, with the Nigerian athlete paired with AJ Styles on the main roster in October 2020.

Since officially splitting from Styles in 2021, Omos has been pushed as a singles star.

He notably went one-on-one with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39, and is slated to face Seth Rollins at Backlash.

Both of these matches were criticised when they were announced. While some WWE fans are ‘Omosapians’, others have questioned WWE for booking the relatively new star in such a prominent position.

Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling, Omos noted that he does know what fans are saying about him online.

Commenting on the fan reaction, Omos said:

“I just gotta perform for me. As long as (the crowd) enjoys it, I see everything (about me) online… but at the end of the day all you gotta do is go out, perform, and make them shut up.”

Believing that he and Strowman proved the world wrong with their match at Crown Jewel 2022, Omos noted:

“I remember all the doubters before we went out there and had that good match that we did. Sometimes you just gotta show that you are who you are.”

It has been announced that during the WWE Draft, MVP negotiated for Omos to be a free agent, meaning he hasn’t been drafted to Raw or SmackDown.
