Sasha Banks Removed From Women’s Royal Rumble At Last Minute

It has been reported that WWE is planning on having Sasha Banks challenge best friend Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36 in April. As a result, a few people predicted that “The Boss” would win the Royal Rumble.

However, not only did Banks not win the Royal Rumble last night, but the former Raw and NXT Women’s Champion wasn’t even part of the match.

The match, which was on by Charlotte Flair, featured several NXT entrants and surprise appearances from former WWE stars. One of the former competitors to return in the match was Kelly Kelly.

However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select is reporting that Sasha Banks was supposed to be part of the match. However, she was pulled at the last minute and replaced by Kelly Kelly.

With regards to why Banks wasn’t in the match, Fightful is reporting that she was not cleared to compete. There is no word on how long Banks is expected to be out for at this current time.

“When asking why Sasha Banks wasn’t in tonight’s Royal Rumble, Fightful was informed that Sasha Banks wasn’t cleared to compete. She’s not wrestled since January 3.  We weren’t told the specific injury or the severity of the injury, or even when she’s expected to be back. “

Sasha is certainly one of WWE’s better female performers, so let’s hope she is fit and able to compete by WrestleMania in April.
