Top Star Compares WWE To Succession TV Series WWE

WWE Raw star Seth Rollins has commented on WWE’s current backstage situation, comparing it to the ‘Succession’ HBO series.

The WWE management team has changed a lot since the beginning of the year, with Vince McMahon returning to the board of directors as the company’s executive chairman, and co-CEO Stephanie McMahon publicly announcing her resignation.

With rumors swirling about a potential WWE sale, there is currently a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of the company as a whole.

Speaking with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Seth Rollins jokingly pointed fans to Succession for an explanation about the backstage situation.

Noting that he is currently focusing on his own role within the company, Rollins said:

“Have you ever seen the show ‘Succession’? If you need an explanation, there you go. You have three seasons of it, I think on HBO, so that’s again, all above my head.

“I’m a pro wrestler, I show up, I put in the work in the ring, try to do my best to entertain the people who buy the tickets and watch us on TV, and that’s all I can focus on.

“If I start worrying about the other stuff, I’m gonna lose my cool so, I gotta keep my cool, my friend.”

For anyone missing the metaphor, Succession follows the Roy family, the owners of a media conglomerate, who fight for control of the company amid uncertainty surrounding the health of father and CEO Logan Roy.

Discussing a potential WWE sale, current WWE CEO Nick Khan recently gave his prediction as to when he expects a sale deal will be completed.
