On last night’s taping, former WWE star John Morrison (John Hennigan) made his return to AEW, attacking the Acclaimed and Daddy Ass alongside the QTV crew.
Morrison, under the name Johnny Elite, has previously wrestled for AEW as a part of last year’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament, where he lost in the first round to Samoa Joe.
In an update from PWInsider, though nothing has been officially announced as of yet, the belief among those backstage at the show was that he had signed with the promotion.
Keeping up his tradition of changing surnames to fit his current promotion or gimmick, PWInsider also heard that he is set to use the name ‘Johnny Television’ (potentially Johnny TV) for the company.
Morrison’s wife, Taya Valkyrie, is also signed to AEW, with her challenging Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
