Darby Allin has said he “doesn’t give a s**t” about the AEW World Title, and has his sights set on regaining the TNT Championship.
Allin reigned as TNT Champion for 186 days, having beaten Cody Rhodes for it at Full Gear in November 2020, before dropping it to Miro this past May.
Speaking at New York Comic Con, Allin spoke about his reign and explained he’d love to have another, and that he cares more about the TNT Title than the World Title.
He said:
“Out of all of those matches, I can say it was probably the one I lost to Miro. It was lots of fun, but it was during the pandemic, I was having the best matches of my career and long story short, I’d like to run that shit back in front of a live crowd. We’ll continue to show everybody why that championship is the most important championship in AEW. Everyone is like, ‘I can’t wait until you become World Heavyweight Champion’. I don’t give a s**t about that. Give me that TNT Championship.”
The TNT Championship is currently held by Sammy Guevara, who won it from Miro on September 29.
Guevara has retained the title once so far, which was against Bobby Fish last Wednesday.
The promotion’s World Championship is held by Kenny Omega, who beat Jon Moxley for it in December last year, and is set to defend against Adam Page soon, likely at the Full Gear pay-per-view.
Meanwhile, Darby Allin looks to be setting up for a big match against MJF.
