According to the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), WWE has applied for trademarks relating to two familiar event names.
On January 19, WWE filed to trademark ‘UNCENSORED’ and ‘SUPERBRAWL’. Both terms were originally WCW pay-per-view names, with Uncensored taking place every March between 1995-2000, and SuperBrawl airing in February between 1991-2001.
The ‘Uncensored‘ trademark is intended to cover ‘ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling’ per the filing:
Entertainment services, namely, ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production of professional wrestling events and organizing exhibitions of professional wrestling events for entertainment purposes, all rendered through broadcast media, namely, television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media, namely, television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing sports and entertainment information through broadcast media, namely, television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website featuring sports entertainment information
The following description accompanied the ‘SuperBrawl‘ filing:
Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fans; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment
