The news of Shane McMahon’s sudden WWE departure has taken the wrestling world by storm this week, with him reportedly originally being slated for a big match at WrestleMania.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently took part in a Fightful Select Q&A (subscription required), in which he was asked about whether AJ Styles has any WrestleMania plans pencilled in, and whether it was against Edge.
Sapp replied:
“His name’s been tossed around, but I don’t know that there’s anything necessarily ‘set’ for either one of them.”
Sapp continued on, revealing that several people had their creative shifted, as there were plans for Shane McMahon, which wil no longer be happening.
He said:
“There are several people who had their creative sort of shifted, because there were plans for Shane McMahon, and now that he’s no longer going to be a part of WrestleMania, there are gonna be some things that ended up changing. So I see a lot of you asking, ‘What’s the program for Edge? What’s the program for Drew McIntyre?’.
“And an awful lot of stuff… I could say something right now at the beginning of February, it’s gonna be different in two weeks. Legitimately.”
