A UFC legend has revealed that they will be covering WWE WrestleMania 39 for ESPN in lieu of popping to the ring himself.
UFC titan Daniel Cormier may work as an analyst for ESPN now but he’s certainly no stranger to combat sports.
So when Cormier recently spoke to Sports Illustrated‘s Justin Barrasso where he shared the very special role he will be playing at WrestleMania 39.
Daniel Cormier said:
“I’m going to WrestleMania,
“The first week of April for ESPN, I’ll be leading the coverage for WrestleMania. I’m so excited about it.”
While some
Not shy in the past to divulge his love of the sport of pro wrestling, this won’t be Cormier’s first appearance in WWE of recent memory.
Cormier also served as the special guest referee for Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle’s Pit Match at Extreme Rules in October 2022.
When discussing whether or not he’d be open to a turn in the ring himself, Comier said:
“I’m getting more opportunities for ESPN, and I’m so thankful for that,
“So I’ll be at WrestleMania, just in a different capacity, and we’ll see what the future holds down the line.”
Cormier was also ripe to note that if he had any problematic run in with Brock Lesnar, he knew what to do saying with a laugh that Lesnar stepped in his way, he’ll “smack him upside his head.”
