Tommaso Ciampa returned on tonight’s edition (June 19) of WWE Raw to answer a big open challenge.
After Seth Rollins was attacked by Finn Balor before anyone could answer his open challenge, another match ensued.
With the Miz in the ring claiming that he was planning on answering the open challenge and capturing the gold, he issued his own open challenge.
It was answered by a returning Tommaso Ciampa, complete with the return of his No-One Will Survive entrance music!
After being out of action for nine months, there was the shared history of the Miz and Ciampa addressed immediately as Ciampa initially greeted the Miz and then, struck him, much to the delight of the Cleveland crowd.
During the match, Ciampa was notably heard chastising the Miz for not having spoken to him during his nine long months away from WWE.
“Not one text message!” Kevin Patrick on commentary noted, multiple times.
After several impressive spots from both men, in the end it was the returning Ciampa who would emerge with the victory.
Hitting a Fairytale Ending, he captured the pinfall victory over the Miz.
