The WWE exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it’s been confirmed in the new episode of Secret Invasion.
Although WWE has occasionally found itself reference in Marvel Comics, the MCU has been free of WWE references until now.
In the latest episode of Secret Invasion on Disney Plus, James Rhodes says of a plot point that we won’t spoil involving Nick Fury:
“He DDT’d him from the top rope. I mean it was straight up Undertaker level.”
It looks like the Undertaker of the MCU’s incarnation of the WWE doesn’t just hit DDTs, but does them from the top rope and it’s what he’s clearly well-known for doing.
Rey Mysterio was referenced in an issue of Symbiote Spider-Man in which the villain Mysterio was asked if he was “like… Rey Mysterio?”
Secret Invasion is currently streaming on Disney Plus and sees Samuel L Jackson reprise his role as Nick Fury.
The trailer for the series can be seen below this news story.
