IMPACT Wrestling held the 2023 edition of it’s Slammiversary event last night, and it saw five championship changes.
Of the title changes, two that came as something of a surprise were Lio Rush defeating Chris Sabin for the X-Division Championship in short order, and Mark Andrews and Morgan Webster of Subculture capturing the IMPACT Tag Team Championship.
The show also saw Jake Something make his return to IMPACT, with him taking part in Ultimate X to kick off the show.
Many fans had wondered about the status of all four men, as well as Kevin Knight, who makes regular appearances for the company.
Per PWInsider, company sources said that Kevin Knight is considered a New Japan Pro Wrestling talent, but the other names have all signed ‘some’ sort of deal with IMPACT.
The sources declined to comment on the terms or length of the deals.
Former WWE star Eric Young made his return to IMPACT at last night’s show, with him receiving his release from WWE back in April due to not wanting to work with Vince McMahon.
Last night’s Slammiversary show also saw Trinity (FKA Naomi) capture the Knockouts Championship from Deonna Purrazzo, her first title since leaving WWE last year.
