WWE Star Released, Didn’t Want To Work With Vince McMahon WWE

A WWE star has reportedly been let go from the company after his request to be released was granted not long after he actually re-signed.

Fightful Select has shared the details on a departure that has been heavily rumored this week, and now confirmed.

Eric Young was initially released by WWE in April 2020 along with a whole host of other names, but he actually re-signed with the company in November 2022 and just never re-appeared on-screen.

According to Fightful Select, Young requested his release from WWE in April 2023, the request was granted, and the 90-day non-compete clause expired last week.

The report states that Young did not want to work with Vince McMahon and requested his release after it was clear McMahon would be back involved when WWE’s deal with Endeavor was announced.

Sources told Fightful that Young didn’t want to work with McMahon for “moral, creative and personal” reasons.

There were in fact some creative plans in place for his return to WWE TV for after WrestleMania, but obviously those didn’t come to be.

Young returned to IMPACT at Slammiversary tonight.
