Reason No WWE Main Roster Stars Were Drafted To NXT Revealed WWE

The reason why no main roster WWE stars were drafted to the NXT brand in the 2024 WWE Draft has been revealed.

Both nights of the 2024 WWE Draft are now officially in the books, with the new rosters for Raw and SmackDown set to be locked in starting on May 6.

WWE had been teasing major involvement from NXT in the Draft, with NXT General Manager Ava even appearing in cameos on Raw and SmackDown with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis.

Despite it seeming like NXT would factor into the Draft, no main roster talents were drafted to NXT.

However, numerous main roster stars who were drafted to Raw or SmackDown have been appearing on the brand, with Michin and Chelsea Green both appearing on this week’s show despite being drafted to SmackDown.

In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), the reason why no main roster talent was officially drafted to NXT in the Draft included a fear that some talent would see it as a demotion.

There was also issues with the difference between the contracts between the main roster and NXT talent in the company.

On top of Chelsea and Michin, Natalya, Ivar, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson all wrestled on this week’s NXT show, with main roster talent expected to continue showing up on the show in the coming months.
