UPDATE: The latest news on Kevin Owens’ injury can be found at this link.
According to a new report, it seems that a top WWE star is legitimately injured after having a backstage segment alluding to an injury.
Noted by WRKD Wrestling on Twitter, Kevin Owens has suffered a legitimate injury, hence the reason for him now having an injury in storyline as well.
The Judgment Day were shown rolling Owens back out on the entrance ramp after having ‘assaulted him backstage’ to distract Sami Zayn, gifting Dominik Mysterio the opening he needed to defeat Zayn in their one-on-one match..
Able to roll up Zayn from behind as he was distracted and concerned about the attack on Owens, Mysterio retained his NXT North American Championship and scampered away as Zayn went to attend to Owens.
In a backstage segment after the commercial break, Owens was shown in pain with medical personnel, speculating that he had broken a rib at the hands of the Judgment Day.
There’s no word on what the real-life injury to Owens is, and it’s also currently unclear how long he may be sidelined, but we’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
