A WWE Hall of Famer feels he could have been a good fit in the NWO.
One of the most defining stables in wrestling history has to be the New World Order. Led by Hollywood Hulk Hogan, the group ran roughshod over WCW and became a pop culture phenomenon.
Meanwhile, D-Generation X rose to prominence over in WWE where they created their own memorable moments and sold plenty of merchandise along the way.
A big part of DX was “Road Dogg” Brian James who usually filled the role as secondary talker behind the leader Triple H during their peak run in 1998-1999.
During a recent Q&A episode on his “Oh…You Didn’t Know” podcast, Road Dogg explained why he feels he could have been a good fit in the NWO instead of DX. He said:
“It’s the nWo, don’t you think? Once they lost kid [X-Pac], they needed a piece of white trash that could be — the joke could be on me, do you know what I mean? They had all really cool people. nobody was not cool.”
“Then, of course, it got too big to where, for a while, then everybody in it wasn’t cool.”
“That’s the one. I wouldn’t have fit — I wasn’t a good enough wrestler for The Four Horsemen, and don’t give me your Lex Luger comments, either.”
“I don’t even know who was in The Dangerous Alliance, but I remember it was in the [’90s], and there were some bad people in there.”
Road Dogg currently works backstage for WWE, while his former New Age Outlaws tag team partner Billy Gunn has become “Daddy Ass” and still wrestles in AEW today.
