WWE announcer Kevin Patrick has reacted to today’s announcement of changes to WWE’s commentary teams for Raw and SmackDown.
Patrick had been calling Raw alongside Corey Graves since last October.
Now, Patrick and Graves are both moving to SmackDown, where they’ll be joining Michael Cole as a three-man team.
The previous SmackDown team, which was Cole and Wade Barrett, will be moving to Raw and staying as a duo.
Reacting to the news, Patrick tweeted:
Pumped to be headed to Friday Night Smackdown on FOX! Will miss my buddies at #WWERaw , but a chance to join @WWEGraves & @MichaelCole on a 3-man desk is an incredible opportunity. Grateful fella. Roll on next Friday. Cheers #WWE #SummerSlam #SmackDown
Variety’s article which broke the story included the note that WWE does remain high on Patrick and the decision to put him on a team with Cole is an effort to “benefit his growth as a broadcaster”.
