A major WWE star has been removed from the internal roster.
On the August 18 edition of WWE SmackDown, WWE celebrated Edge’s 25th anniversary of his main roster debut with a special episode dedicated to the Rated R Superstar from his hometown of Toronto.
To conclude the night, Edge defeated Sheamus in a first time ever main event.
Since this bout, there has been reports indicating that WWE believes the former 12-time champion will be heading to All Elite Wrestling following his contract expiring with the company in September.
PWInsider provided an update, noting that as of September 13, Edge has been removed from WWE’s internal roster.
The report also reiterates that a belief in certain circles is that the Rated R Superstar is AEW-bound.
With his long time tag team partner Christian Cage and real-life friends FTR working for the promotion, imagining Edge, real name Adam Copeland, in AEW is not out of the world of possibilities.
In an update provided by PWInsider, Edge has since been added back to the internal roster, but not as an active performer.
