Last week’s (September 15) episode of WWE SmackDown made headlines for, when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his return to the company.
The Rock and Pat McAfee opened up the show with a segment with Austin Theory, before The Rock and John Cena appeared backstage together.
The Rock said that a match between him and Roman Reigns was, at one point, ‘locked in’ for WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles this year.
The Rock has not wrestled a full match for WWE since 2013, when he was defeated by John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29.
Today, off the back of both men appearing on last week’s SmackDown, WWE shared an unheard conversation from the two men’s match, being shared to the official WWE Tik Tok account.
Cena is set to appear on this week’s (September 22) episode of SmackDown following he and AJ Styles aligning to fight off Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa on last week’s show.
The Rock has said that he is open to a match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 next year.
