WWE Hall of Famer Edge has been the talk of the wrestling world recently, with his WWE contract reportedly expiring yesterday, making him a free agent as of October 1.
With Edge now a free agent, there has been speculation about Edge potentially showing up in AEW, potentially as soon as tonight’s WrestleDream event in Seattle.
Speaking to the New York Post ahead of AEW WrestleDream, Bryan Danielson discussed Edge potentially joining the company, and the role he would play in the company.
He said:
“He has a great mind for wrestling. He has a great passion for wrestling and he has a lot to teach a lot of the younger generation. One of the things that I think about his generation and younger is they have a real desire to give back. I have a real desire to give back. He has a real desire to give back. Christian has a real desire to give back. Having people like that in your locker only benefits the entire company.”
Bryan is set for a dream match with Zack Sabre Jr on tonight’s WrestleDream show.
The main event of the show is set to see Christian Cage defend his TNT Championship in a two out of three falls match against Darby Allin.
Christian being a part of the main event match has only added to the speculation that Edge could show up on tonight’s show.
