AEW has announced an injury to Bryan Danielson on tonight’s episode of AEW Collision as now a fellow Blackpool Combat Club member is seeking revenge.
In a vignette featuring Claudio Castagnoli, he said that Bryan Danielson had suffered a broken orbital bone on Dynamite, but whether it was from Kazuchika Okada’s Rainmaker or Orange Cassidy’s Orange Punch is unknown.
While it was unclear if that was legitimate or just a storyline, Tony Schiavone on commentary did say soon after that Danielson requires surgery and will be out “until later this year”, implying it is a real issue.
There was a tag team match in the main event of AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday featuring Castagnoli and Danielson facing Cassidy and Okada with Danielson selling an apparent facial injury after the match.
After that, Tony Khan had tweeted that Danielson walked to the back under his own power.
Claudio won’t have to wait long to get his hands on Orange Cassidy though.
They have an International Championship match set this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite in Louisville, Kentucky.
