Popular AEW star Orange Cassidy says TBS Champion Kris Statlander is very special and one of the best wrestlers in the world today.
Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander are part of the Best Friends stable and are genuinely best friends in real life.
The two stars have been aligned in AEW since 2020 and have seen their biggest success this year.
Currently, Cassidy is the reigning two-time AEW International Champion, while Statlander is holding the AEW TBS Championship.
In a new interview with the Under The Ring podcast, Orange Cassidy praised Kris Statlander and compared her current reign as TBS Champion to his first run with the International Title. He said:
“Kris Statlander is very special because she’s part of our little stable and her and I have become very good friends.”
“She’s in a very similar spot that I was when I had my first title run. So we can kind of lean on each other and help each other out.”
“It’s not really so much that I’m mentoring her, we’re just bouncing ideas off each other.”
“It’s also very easy when Kris Statlander is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world to be like, ‘Oh, hey, you should do this,’ and she does it incredibly. I’m not really doing too much she’s already figured it out.”
Orange Cassidy will defend the AEW International Championship against Jon Moxley, while Kris Statlander will defend the TBS Championship in a three-way against Julia Hart and Skye Blue this Saturday, November 18 at AEW Full Gear. For the full lineup for the show, click here.
