AEW commentary continues to refer to Christian Cage as ‘the Patriarch’ with his faction being referred to as ‘The Patriarchy’.
A new name of an AEW faction seemingly continues to be confirmed by the commentary team on tonight’s AEW Rampage.
With Rampage airing live immediately after a Friday night edition of AEW Collision, the opening match of the night was Christian Cage defending the TNT Championship against Trent Beretta.
With Beretta having earlier bested three others (Brian Cage, Komander and Penta el Zero Miedo) to earn the title shot, he put up an effort against Cage however was not successful in the end.
However during the match, Nigel McGuinness and then Chris Jericho who was on commentary continued to refer to Christian Cage’s faction as ‘The Patriarchy’.
Cage celebrated his win alongside Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne ahead of their big six-man match at tomorrow night’s AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per-view as the trio face Adam Copeland, Sting and Darby Allin.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Collision, a big stipulation was added to an upcoming AEW Full Gear 2023 as a title bout has now become a ladder match.
