WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has reflected on his final segment with former WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.
In January 2023, The Undertaker made his return to WWE on Raw 30 in a segment with LA Knight and Bray Wyatt. After disposing of Knight, Wyatt and Taker shared a moment that many fans saw as a “passing of the torch” moment.
This was a special segment to many due to Wyatt being seen as the successor to the Undertaker’s spooky character.
On August 24, 2023, the wrestling world was left shocked when Bray Wyatt passed away at the age of 36.
Speaking with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, The Undertaker reflected on the moment and noted that the former WWE Universal Champion did not need a torch to be passed.
Noting that he believes Wyatt created his own torch, Taker said:
“You know what? I think he created his own torch. I don’t think he needed a torch.”
“Obviously, there were several comparisons between our characters and some of the stuff that we put out there. But, yeah, he lit his own torch, and he carried it proudly.”
Bray Wyatt and The Undertaker faced each other at WrestleMania 31 in March 2015. They also wrestled in a tag team match at Survivor Series later that year.
Taker made another return to WWE on the October 10 edition of WWE NXT in a segment with Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes.
