WWE star SCRYPTS will be leaving the company when his contract expires on June 1, 2024, and has sent a message about his future.
SCRYPTS himself confirmed his departure from the company on April 30, sharing a video where he packed up various items from his WWE career, including the 24/7 Championship, the old SCRYPTS mask and his OTM neck chain.
With WWE confirming his contract would not be renewed, SCRYPTS announced he would be free to take bookings from June 2024.
Although, at the time of writing, still under contract with WWE, SCRYPTS has posted a tweet about his post-WWE career, writing:
“Where do you want to see me wrestle? Tag that promotion in the comments 👀👀”
With replies suggesting AEW, TNA, MLW and other companies, SCRYPTS would take the time to reply to the ideas but not reveal his future plans.
He would also confirm that he’s free to take bookings from June 2, 2024.
SCRYPTS signed with WWE in January 2020, debuting at the end of that year on SmackDown, performing as Carmella’s sommelier Reginald Thomas, which was later shortened to simply Reginald.
His name would later be shortened again to Reggie, and he was soon separated from Carmella which resulted in him becoming the WWE 24/7 Champion in September 2021.
With a move to NXT in October 2022, Reggie would become SCRYPTS, debuting on the brand in November of that year.
May 2023 would see SCRYPTS unmasked by fellow masked wrestler Axiom with the pair forming a brief alliance afterwards.
Speaking about his time in the mask, SCYRPTS would reveal he was “thrown into the fire” and “caught off guard” by the gimmick change.
September 2023 would see the birth of the Out The Mud (OTM) stable led by SCRYPTS alongside Bronco Nima & Lucien Price, who were later joined by Jaida Parker.
He has confirmed that he’ll be using the ring name Sidney Akeem upon leaving WWE.
