AEW
With his Best of the Super Juniors 33 journey now at an end, alongside his NJPW tour, AEW star Nick Wayne has thanked fans for their support.
Best of the Super Juniors concluded on June 7, with the tournament being won by YOH, with a victory over Kosei Fujita in the finals.
The second Best of the Super Juniors tournament and tour to feature Nick Wayne, the AEW star would reflect on his most recent tour and share a hope to return in backstage comments, saying:
“Is it really over? I wish I could stay some more. I wish I could restart this tour and do it all again.
“I’m just gonna take a chance to reflect on what a great experience this has been for me. At my age, twenty years old, coming overseas to Japan to do a long, extended tour like this, especially in the Best of the Super Juniors, not only is it an honor, but it’s a great experience for somebody my age to come and get all this work.
“Now, all we can do is hope. Hope that, one day, I’ll be back in a New Japan ring, under the New Japan lights, perhaps for another tournament, another tour, perhaps for some championship gold. That would be the goal.
“Until then, whether I’m seeing you guys through a TV screen, through another camera, or I see you in person and I get to shake your hand personally, I just want to say, thank you so much for the experience, thank you so much for the series.
“Best of the Super Juniors 33 is now in the books, perhaps the best Super Juniors yet, thanks to you guys.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.”

Wayne had previously shared a simple comment of “is it really over…?” on Twitter after the final, which took place at Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
Going For Gold
Just twenty years of age, Nick Wayne has already seen title success in his home promotion, having held the AEW World Trios Championship with Christian Cage and Killswitch.
Add to that a singles title in the form of the ROH World Television Championship, and it’s not a stretch to imagine Wayne getting more title opportunities after returning “home”.
Seeing Wayne in his element over in NJPW was a reminder of how seasoned the star has become since joining AEW. Having debuted at just twelve years old back in 2018, the son of Buddy Wayne was always destined for the spotlight, but signing with AEW before turning eighteen ramped up the attention he would receive when he made his television debut.
It’s attention that has become well deserved over the subsequent years, with the star rising to the challenge and sharing the ring with fellow up-and-coming stars and industry greats with confidence.
Having last competed in AEW on the Spring BreakThru episode of Collision back in April of this year, Wayne will no doubt be hoping to pick up where he left off. Perhaps he will get an opportunity to challenge AR Fox for ROH World Television Championship, having lost that title at Supercard Showdown in May.
