Former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin has reportedly been granted his release from his contract, after re-signing with the company several months ago.
As initially reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Steve Maclin has been granted his release from TNA Wrestling.
TNA Wrestling has now confirmed the departures of Steve Maclin and Myla Grace, writing:
TNA Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Steve Maclin and Myla Grace, effective immediately.
We wish them the best in their future endeavors.
Fightful Select had previously reported that Myla Grace asked for, and was granted her release from TNA Wrestling earlier this week, with there reportedly being “no heat” between the two sides.
TNA Wrestling had announced Maclin’s re-signing with the company in March, following Maclin being reinstated after briefly being “fired” after selecting landing that briefcase in the Feast Or Fired match.
TNA President Carlos Silva touted Maclin as a “true fighter” following this announcement, stating that he was glad to have him back.
Prior to this, PWInsider had reported in January that Steve Maclin and TNA Wrestling had come to terms on what had been described as an “extension” on his existing deal.
WWE fans may remember Steve Maclin as Steve Cutler, who wrestled for that company from 2014 up until May 2020, ahead of his release in February 2021.
“Steve Cutler”s last match in WWE saw him and Wesley Blake face off against Lucha House Party, John Morrison & The Miz, and eventual winners The New Day in a SmackDown Tag Team Championship four-way at Money in the Bank 2020.
With Maclin TNA exit, there has been some speculation about him potentially returning to WWE to have a serious singles run, after proving himself as a singles star elsewhere.
It would be interesting to see Maclin featured prominently in another company, whether that be WWE, or AEW, where his wife Deonna Purrazzo is signed.
When reflecting on his WWE run back in October 2025, Maclin stated that he felt his run with TNA Wrestling up to that point had been the complete opposite to his experience in NXT.
