AJ Styles’ Son Avery Styles Officially Signs First Contract

“The Phenomenal Son” Avery Styles, the son of WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles, has officially signed his first contract.

Over the past few months, the next generation of AJ Styles has begun his wrestling journey, with Avery Styles competing in various independent promotions in recent months, most notably GCW.

Ahead of tonight’s TNA Lockdown show, it was announced that Avery would make his first appearance for TNA Wrestling, the promotion that AJ became most famous for competing in.

Avery Styles Signs With TNA

Avery made his appearance on the show, where it was officially announced that the Phenomenal Son had signed his first contract, officially joining the TNA roster.

Avery would be confronted on the stage by Frankie Kazarian, who has a lot of history with Avery’s father, with Kazarian looking to win the trust of Avery, seemingly setting up Avery’s first feud in the company.

Avery wasn’t the only person announced to have signed with TNA at Lockdown, as former AEW star Kiera Hogan made her return to the company on the show, with it being officially announced she had signed with the company.

The Struggles For Avery Styles In TNA

While Avery is just months into his wrestling career, he will likely have a lot of pressure on his shoulders after officially signing with TNA Wrestling.

Many fans have argued that Avery’s instant rise in the industry is entirely due to his name and legacy rather than on his own merit, so it is now up to Avery to shine as his own wrestler in TNA.

TNA for many years was the AJ Styles promotion, so he will likely have high expectations among loyal fans of the promotion who are hoping to see him match his father’s legacy.

While some would argue having the name and legacy has been a benefit for Avery in his career, now is where the hard work begins, as many second generation wrestlers in the past have spoken about the struggles of breaking out of their father’s shadows to become their own wrestler, including Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Charlotte Flair.

It remains to be seen what legacy Avery Styles will end up creating for himself, but one thing is for sure, now he’s on the big stage, it’s important to take some of the pressure off his own shoulders and show the world what Avery Styles can do.
